Electrician work on data center projects in Maryland

Data centers are, at their core, electrical projects — a single hyperscale campus can draw more power than a small city, and every watt passes through gear that electricians install, terminate, and test. On the construction side, that means running conduit and cable tray, pulling feeders, setting switchgear and PDUs, and wiring generator and UPS systems. On the operations side, facility electricians handle preventive maintenance, thermal scans, and live-environment work where an outage can cost the operator millions per hour.

Electrical licensing rules vary by state and sometimes by city or county; the license held by an individual, contractor, or supervising electrician can also differ. Employers and worksites may require electrical-safety training based on assigned duties and hazards. NFPA 70E training supports safe work practices but is not an occupational license and does not by itself authorize electrical work.
