Welder work on data center projects
Hyperscale construction uses welded steel and pipe across structural frames, pipe racks, chilled-water mains, generator fuel systems, and equipment supports. Welders on these sites work stick, MIG, and TIG across carbon steel, stainless, and occasionally specialized alloys on process piping. Shop fabrication and field welding both play a role, and some pipe welds require radiographic examination.
Welding qualifications are usually matched to the employer, code, process, position, and material. An AWS credential and a 6G test can be valuable for relevant work, but neither is a universal license to weld every job; employers or projects may require their own procedure qualification or site test. Data center projects can offer long-duration work across successive building phases.
