Safety Officer (EHS) work on data center projects in Texas

Large hyperscale sites can combine many workers and subcontractors with heavy lifts, energized systems, and around-the-clock schedules. EHS officers conduct orientations and toolbox talks, audit high-risk work like critical lifts and energized electrical tasks, manage permits (hot work, confined space, LOTO), and investigate incidents and near-misses to keep them from repeating.

Safety-role qualifications are set by the employer, project owner, assigned duties, and applicable regulations. OSHA says its 30-hour Outreach course is voluntary training, not a certification and not a substitute for standard-required training. Employers may prefer or require CHST, ASP/CSP, first-aid, or trainer credentials for particular roles; candidates should verify each posting rather than treat one credential as nationwide authorization.

Licensing and training context: Requirements vary by state, employer, project, and job level. Verify the job posting and the relevant state licensing or apprenticeship authority. Compare reviewed training paths and trade careers.
